Renee' Hawthorne
Pastor Reneé serves in ministry along side her husband as the Pastors of Flame of Fire Ministries Covenant Church (FOFMCC). The mission of FOFMCC is to be a house of refuge; a place of safety for those who are broken, hurt, and heavy laden, and to restore the foundation of marriage, family, unity and relationships. God’s purpose for FOFMCC is to cover, empower, restore, strengthen and disciple through the preaching and teaching through the Word of God.
Pastor Reneé was called to the ministry, August 29, 1993. She accepted her calling on May 19, 1995 in Richmond, VA under Bishop John L. Harris, Sr., where she experienced working for God as a teacher and expressive speaker at retreats, seminars and workshops. Pastor Reneé was ordained to Elder at Overflow Ministries Covenant Church under the leadership of spiritual parents Apostle Bennie and Pastor Delores Fluellen and Pastor Michael Rucker. As an Elder at Overflow, Pastor Reneé served as the Director of the Children/Youth Dance Ministry, Adult Dance Ministry, and the Visitor Team. She served as a staff member for various committees including: College Care, Leadership Development, Instruction in Doctrine and Equipping, Music Worship and Arts, Out of the Box Production Team, and Leadership Development. Pastor Reneé was Ordained Elder at Harac Parech Ministries for the World, under Pastors Norman and Pamela Dock. She served as Director of the Arts, Evangelism, and Jail ministries. She also served as a staff member for the Total Woman Ministry, and as a Sunday school and a Bible Study teacher.
Pastor Reneé is the founder and president of Karar Barark Liturgical Dance Academy. Previously, she led as President and facilitator of Purity with Purpose, an organization for teenage girls ages 11-17 years, and founder and facilitator of the Single Mothers Bible Study and Fellowship. Additionally, she served as Minister Head for Reubacon Rehabilitation Center for Women for Drug/Alcohol. Prior to ministering from the pulpit, Pastor Reneé ministered in song with the acappella group “A Fresh Anointing’. Pastor Reneé has also served as the spokesperson for Christian Radio Broadcast station and assist to the Director of Unity in the Community. Pastor Reneé is married to Pastor Timothy Hawthorne. They work together in the vineyard while operating under the spirit of excellence.
Pastor Hawthorne have eight children, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. As a true Shepherd of God’s flock, Pastor Reneé’s heart beats after God’s heart. Her heart for discipleship, compassion for the hurt, and determination for truth is the foundation of her ministry. Ephesians 1:17-23 is her prayer for the woman of today, while Romans 12:1-2 is her prayer for all God’s people. There is comfort knowing that God gives a place in the Spirit to each believer.
